We are the CompTIA community together

CompTIA wants to increase value and provide a better user experience by 2022. MJ Shoer, the Chief Community Officer, has set four challenges for members to help them reach their goals. Are you ready to accept? Since I assumed the role of chief community officer at CompTIA earlier in the year, I have spent a lot time talking with our members and thinking about ways we can all work together to make CompTIA even better and offer more value to our members.
First, Nancy Hammervik, CompTIA Tech Career academy CEO, deserves a lot of credit for building a strong and healthy membership community over the past 11 years. Nancy and her team have built a strong foundation that allows us to continue our renewed focus as the CompTIA Community, a vibrant ecosystem of MSPs and tech vendors, distributors and influencers who are involved in creating and delivering technology that solves real business problems.
As we move forward, CompTIA recognizes that it exists to serve its global members and to help each individual and company we serve realize their potential to make a difference in the world. Yes, you can change the world. That is what I believe from the core. Our industry has provided more opportunities than any other. Our entire team is driven to serve our customers and empower the global economy.
To accomplish all of these things, it takes a group effort. This means that many people from different roles work together towards a common goal. It takes a group. With this in mind, I challenged my team to be closer to their members in 2022. This means meeting you where and being available to you whenever you need me. We want to hear your thoughts. What can CompTIA do to best serve you? CompTIA is a leading industry provider and we want to make sure you’re taking full advantage of the many benefits offered by the organization.
Four challenges to help you be more successful
We are aiming to be a better trade association in 2022. In 2022, I have four challenges for you.
Join a CompTIA Community by 2022. Get involved if you are already a member of the community. We are here to help you, but the peer relationships that are created in our communities are unrivalled. Don’t believe what I say? Ask another member!
Attend a CompTIA conference. CompTIA members are welcome to attend the CompTIA Communities & Councils Forum. It is located in Chicago, March 14-16. This is our first ever in-person member event in America in two years. We have many great things planned. Keep the first week in August reserved for ChannelCon 2022 in Chicago. If you are in the UK, or plan to visit, make sure to attend the CompTIA EMEA Member and Partner Conference, London, October.
Reach out to other CompTIA members. CompTIA’s member list is full of innovative, experienced industry leaders who are willing to discuss their member experience, the benefits you should use, and how they can help you grow your business.
Your cybersecurity posture should be improved. Make sure to read the latest State of Cybersecurity report. If you are an MSP, you can earn the CompTIA Safety Trustmark +. All our members are invited to join the CompTIA ISAO and fight the bad actors. This will help you and your customers be more cyber-resilient. It is our collective responsibility to ensure the safety of our businesses, and to set a good example for our customers and society in general.
Be More Engaged and Empowered with Your Peers
I also need your assistance. CompTIA has much to offer its members. You know the value CompTIA can bring to your business and you are a member. Spread the word. Tell your friends about CompTIA and the many benefits we offer. We would love to know what social media groups you belong to so that we can join you. Discuss CompTIA in these groups and let your peers know how easy it can be to get involved and how rewarding it can be to be a part of this amazing Association.
Last but not least, I would like to invite you to the CompTIA Communities and Councils Forum, March 14-16, in Chicago. This exclusive event is for members only and offers a great opportunity to engage in all things CompTIA. Meet other CompTIA members in person. Participate in the first hybrid MSP Client Solutions Mastery Path session. Learn how to optimize your workforce and business. To help grow your business, engage a respected leader in our Genius Cafe. Learn the latest trends in the public sector. Participate in a community meeting to connect with your peers. Make your voice heard. Celebrate our latest Spotlight Award winners. Enjoy Chicago while you maximize your membership! I hope to see all of you there.
We are grateful for your membership on behalf of the entire CompTIA community.
