You are nervous and shaking your phone in a cold sweat. The client is mad. They call and threaten to cancel the project. Everything has been going so well so far. We were also completely relaxed. They wanted their website redesign. It sounded simple. Because it was so easy, you didn’t bother to put anything down. It was almost as if everyone understood it. Everyone thought they were being cool. But now they aren’t. They expected a website redesign and a rebrand. They screwed it up and now their stomachs are knotted. Nothing was written down. It’s their word against my. I’m just stressed. This podcast will explain why Scope statements are important if you want to feel less stressed. Scope statements and how to use them in your projects.

Robyn will be joining me today. Robyn is our resident DPM expert. She is right next to me, where I just finished reading. She loves emojis, list-making, and lists. She is a chef and project manager with more than 10 years of experience in managing projects in startups and agencies. She is also available for contract work. LinkedIn can help you locate a contract PM. Robyn, thank you for joining us today.
Robyn Birkedal
Hi, Ben. It’s always a pleasure being with you.
Ben Aston
Now, I want to get back on the list-making. Are you on the list, too?
Robyn Birkedal
I have. Because I am such an idiot. I have one list of top goals to accomplish today. I have one list in my planner. Then, I have my Google Calendar. I have three lists so I can’t see them all at the same time. My crime wall of postit note notes is what you won’t see behind me back.
Ben Aston
This is the back catalog of lists.
Robyn Birkedal
I have many goals and objectives that I want professionally and personally.
Ben Aston
Do you also own a dog?
Robyn Birkedal
My eight-year old dog is mine, but I love dogs more than cats. Recent events are less popular with Emojis. That was my impression of the face.
Ben Aston
Last year, it was me too.
Robyn Birkedal
I don’t know
Ben Aston
You already know that posts lists are important to your life. Some people find them inspirational. But I’m curious where you get your inspiration. What are you currently reading? What are you reading to stay inspired?
Robyn Birkedal
This is a great question. This is a great question. It’s a great question. I could probably talk about it right now for at least 30 minutes. The digital project manager is, naturally, a constant.
